Hi everyone, my name is Maria and I have been a miniaturist for more years than I care to remember and I have loved fabrics since forever. My Mum taught me to sew and I made my first outfit when I was seven - lime green shorts with spots and a simple top to match, under Mum's supervision of course!
I have felt for a very long time that there was very definitely something missing on the miniatures scene when it came to fabric. Especially when searching for fabric for the mini males. To be constantly told that "Cotton will look fine" wasn't what I wanted to hear. I knew there were proper wool's and silks out there that would be totally right - so I set out to find them - and now I have brought them onto the Internet as well as to different show's - just for you. Take a good look around my site. I will constantly be adding so pop back every week or so, and see for yourself. Your little gentlemen can have their country tweeds or dog-tooth checks, and the children can wear the finest lightest wool's to keep them warm in winter.
All of my fabrics are cut into 28cm X 33cm - 11" X 13" unless otherwise stated. ALL of the Japanese fabrics that I have are Kimono fabrics. Made to the highest standard and as fine and light as you could wish. Please also remember that many are unique and often VERY limited stock - so if you see it and want it then buy it to avoid disappointment. The Indian fabrics are almost all woven 1/4" narrower on the width than the usual size. This is because they are hand loomed and can only be the width of the frame in front of which the weaver stands.
I also have the staples - plain cotton lawn, Calico, plain cottons in solid colour's, Hessian etc. If you don't see what you are looking for or want something that you can't see then please e-mail me. It's very possible that I have it but I haven't got it on to the Internet yet.
If you see what you want then I suggest you buy it when you see it. My aim is be constantly bringing new and different fabrics to our hobby, so I won't necessarily have a particular fabric around for a long time. I don't want to have the same old fabric's for years on end, but bring something new and different for you so that you can indulge your imagination to the full!!
HAPPY BROWSING!!
